Glorious And Mighty

Note (jontsai)

Scripture Reading before verse 3
Psalm 96:4-6
For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised;

Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

Behold Our God

Note (jontsai)

The words of this song are from the book of Isaiah, chapter 40. The phrase "Behold Our God" is an adaptation of a Jewish phrase, "Behold your God." When the nation of Israel heard this, it instilled a sense of fear and awe in them, causing many to fall flat on their faces in worship.

Because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, God no longer has to be only their God, but He can be our God as well. Let us sing with that same sense of awe and reverence.
